Source policy

How Leed handles tips before reporter contact.

Leed is not an open comment box. It is a newsroom intake and routing desk designed to preserve useful public-interest leads while keeping source identity and follow-up decisions controlled.

Operating principles

  1. 01A valid tip is stored before AI triage runs, so model failure does not erase the submission.
  2. 02Sensitive, spam, PR, or needs-review leads can be held before public discovery.
  3. 03Reporter contact is restricted to verified journalist accounts and recorded as a request, not an automatic disclosure.
  4. 04Sources can accept or decline contact requests from their dashboard before follow-up continues.
  5. 05Admins can hold, remove, restore, and audit leads when safety or accuracy requires intervention.

Human review

AI triage is a routing aid, not an editor. Newsroom administrators remain responsible for deciding whether to publish, hold, restore, remove, or escalate leads that involve serious accusations, minors, legal risk, privacy risk, or vulnerable sources.

Requests

To request correction, removal, source-safety review, or privacy review, contact hello@leed.media. Include the tip URL or enough context for the newsroom owner to locate the record.
